Michael L. Murray is a professor of insurance in the College of Business and Public Administration at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He holds an MBA and a Ph.D. in insurance from the University of Oregon, and a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Iowa. He has taught at Drake University for eleven years, having previously taught at the University of Iowa for nineteen years. His work experience also includes two years in an insurance agency and two years as a United States Army Infantry officer.
