Its companions, B and C, are optical and have no physical relation to 1 Aqr A. 1 Aquarii is known to be an infra-red source. 1 Aquarii A is a red dwarf with a mass relative to 80% solar masses and is almost 90% the diameter of the Sun. The star resides approximately 240 light-years away from earth with an absolute magnitude of 6.211, meaning it is dimmer than our sun as well as cooler.
