Oscar Tschirky (1866-1950) was also known as "Oscar of the Waldorf." His long career at the Waldorf Hotel in New York city as maitre-d'hotel included popularizing or inventing the Waldorf salad and Eggs Benedict. In addition to collaborating on "100 Famous Cocktails" he authored his own cookbook.
