This collection of 1001 common English-Persian proverbs is intended to assist students of English in learning and applying proverbs to everyday situations. The proverbs in this book are listed alphabetically and a definition, example and Persian equivalent are provided for every English proverb. This collection of proverbs includes what are considered the most commonly used and familiar proverbs by native English speakers. Each proverb is presented in its most common form along with a standard definition. In preparing this book, special attention has been paid to the needs of language learners at different levels, and this work can also be used as a source for the course "Idioms and Proverbs Application in English Teaching". It is hoped that this book will be welcomed by those who are interested in English and Persian culture and language. It is helpful to remember that many proverbs have more than one meaning as well as variant forms. This book also provides a springboard to discuss some of the similarities and differences between the English and Persian languages and cultures.
