Autorenporträt
John Tucker grew up in Richmond, where he subsisted on Ukrops White House rolls as a child, slept under a Richmond Braves poster, and regularly rode his bike to the Pony Pasture flatwater. He discovered the 111 Places series while living in Chicago and immediately felt destined to write the Richmond edition. He is very grateful to have moved back to the River City, where he lives with his wife, children, and dog. Ashley Tucker grew up in Chester, Virginia, where she received her first camera from her grandfather over 20 years ago. After stints in New York and Chicago spent honing her photography skills, Ashley reunited with her hometown and used her camera to display Richmond's hidden treasures with her husband, the author of this book, their adventurous children, and rambunctious golden retriever. When she isn't capturing the city behind a lens, you can find her on her yoga mat at Humble Haven, spending time with her family, or tackling one of many projects around their charming, 100-year-old home nestled in the West End.
