Sylvan Simon, and, after his untimely death at 41 while filming From Here to Eternity, her mother remarried and Susan's step-father was MGM producer Armand Deutsch. Granger studied journalism at the University of Pennsylvania. She has been reviewing movies for more than 25 years and is the film critic for Video Librarian.
