The DH.110 crash at Farnborough Airshow was a fatal air crash that occurred on 6 September 1952, killing both crew of a de Havilland DH.110 and 29 spectators during the annual air display. The pilot, John Derry, was the first British pilot to have exceeded the speed of sound in a British plane, four years earlier to the day. The accident investigation concluded that during the display, the starboard wing failed during a high g manoeuvre resulting in the eventual disintegration of the whole aircraft.
