The England team had the formidable bowling attack of Frank Tyson (18.56), Fred Trueman (21.57), Brian Statham (24.84), Peter Loader (22.51), Jim Laker (21.24), Tony Lock (25.52), and the all-rounder Trevor Bailey (bowling average 29.21), the outstanding wicket-keeper Godfrey Evans and the batting of Peter May (46.77), Colin Cowdrey (44.06), Tom Graveney (44.38) and Raman Subba Row (46.85), later joined by Ted Dexter (47.89).
