THE RATANA CONDENSATE AND GAS FIELD IS LOCATED IN THE RATANA IS A LARGE,SALT CORED,THRUST BOUNDED,EAST WEST TRENDING POP UP STRUCTURE,BASED ON CONTOUR MAPS OF DIFFERENT FORMATIONS,SOURCE/RESERVOIR BEHAVIOR, TRAPPING MECHANISM IS STUDIED THE PRESENT WORK IS AN ATTEMPT TO EXPLORE THE SUB SURFACE GEOLOGY OF PART RATANA AREA OF NORTH POTWAR DEFORMED ZONE(NPDZ)AND TO INTERPRET STRATIGRAPHIC SUCCESSION AND STRUCTURAL STYLE OF THE AREA USING 2D SEISMIC REFLECTION DATA THROUGH THE INTERPRETATION,IT IS CONCLUDED THAT STRUCTURAL GEOMETRY OF THE AREA COMPRISES OF SMALL AND LARGE SCALE E-W TRENDING TIGHT FOLDS,ANTICLINES AND THRUST FAULT FAULT INCLUDE FORE AND BACK THRUST,POP UP STRUCTURES ARE ALSO IDENTIFIED WHICH ARE SUITABLE LOCATIONS FOR HYDROCARBONS ACCUMULATION NORMAL FAULTS IN THE BASEMENT ARE INTERPRETED MAY BE RESULT OF DRIFT OF INDIAN PLATE FROM SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE TO NORTHERN HEMISPHERE THROUGH THE CROSS PLOTS OF DIFFERENT LOGS,LITHOLOGY AND HYDROCARBONS POTENTIAL ZONES ARE ALSO PREDICTED. DEPOSITIONAL ENVIRONMENT AND VARIATION IN THE THICKNESS OF FORMATIONS IS ALSO INTERPRETED BY WELL CORRELATION.
