New 2-substituted 1H-benzo[d]imidazoles have been synthesized with a choice of various aldehydes and o-phenylenediamine using ceric ammonium nitrate as a catalyst and hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant. Then the metal complexes of this monodentate ligands were synthesized with copper, nickel and cobalt metal ions at room temperature. The thorough study of all ligands and complexes is discussed in this book in the manner of infrared, mass, electron spray ionisation mass, UV-visible and 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric, elemental, magnetic susceptibility, conductivity and pH metric analysis. This book describes the detailed study of thermogravimetric and pH metric titration of metal complexes to know the composition of the ligands and metal ions during the formation of desired metal complexes.
