This is the third volume of Encyclopedia of Chinese Buddhism, introducing "Buddhist Texts in China", including the sūtra, vinaya and śāstra of Indian Buddhism that were translated into Chinese. Before the Gregorian era, Indian Buddhism began to be introduced to China from India. The White Horse Temple in Luoyang has always been revered by Buddhist disciples as the "source of Buddhism", which is the birthplace of Chinese Buddhism. Through long-term dissemination and development, it has formed Chinese Buddhism with Chinese national characteristics.
