The Covid-19 pandemic has become an unprecedented and complex health, social, economic, educational and psychological challenge. Thus, the psychological factor is decisive for the success of the methods adopted by the World Health Organization to prevent the spread of infection in the absence of scientifically supported vaccines and antiviral therapies, the side effects of quarantine, isolation, and the subsequent economic and labor perspectives after the pandemic. In this sense, the purpose of this article is to analyze the psychological factors of the pandemic in order to adapt relevant mental health intervention strategies. To achieve this objective, databases with relevance to the areas of Health, Psychiatry and Psychology were elected in order to analyze the most recent publications related to psychology and Covid-19. Finally, the importance of planning and coordinating strategies for psychological care during the pandemic (and after it) is observed, considering a scenario that shows the probability of an unprecedented psychological crisis.
