Bren Berry taught school for several years in a large school district in the Los Angeles area. After a few years, she ventured into the private school sector, where she taught children from a wider and more diverse background. After a while, she came to the realization that the problems of preteens and teenagers were the same regardless of their background. They all wanted acceptance, and they all wanted to find their rightful place in today's society.
