Born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Long Island City, Dee started her life's journey serving eight years in the United States Air Force. She found her calling as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist after graduating from Eastern Washington University in Cheney, WA. Following a span of 16 years in Washington State, she relocated to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and accepted a position with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. She worked independently in the microbiology research laboratory and retired after 30 years of service. Dee always dreamed of becoming a writer and retirement helped her to revisit this passion. Her other interests include organic gardening, cooking, reading and traveling.
