In August 2001 it was still the largest Plutino, other than Pluto and Charon, so far identified. But later plutino discoveries, such as 38628 Huya,28978 Ixion, and 90482 Orcus are larger. It is no longer classified as a plutino. With a low albedo of 0.04 and an absolute magnitude of 5.8, 1998 SN165 has the dimmest absolute magnitude that may qualify as a plutoid candidate.
