In contrast to classification and retrieval based on 2D data, classification and retrieval based on 3D information is a progressively viable and sensible task.This book examines the issues and concepts that are often associated with content-based 3D object classification and retrieval. It also includes our contributions to the field. In fact, we focused on classification and search approaches based on partial matching, representing the shape using the 2D cross-sectional images extracted from the 3D object, and machine learning.
