This book presents comprehensive investigation of the transmission performance of 5G mobile fronthaul (MFH) for future 5G wireless network based on aggregating multiple intermediate frequency (IF) and supported by analog radio-over-fiber (RoF) technology. Four scenarios describing the environment of the single-mode fiber (SMF) transmission link are examined to address the effect of fiber dispersion and increase the transmission capacity using wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology. The four scenarios cover the operation of 1550 nm, 1310 nm, 1550 nm with dispersion compensation fiber (DCF), and C-band WDM environment. Simulation results are presented for both 200 MHz- and 1 GHz-mobile channel bandwidth and with QPSK, 16QAM and 64QAM modulation formats. The simulation results are obtained using the commercial software Optisystem V.14.1.
