Sonja Christiansen is a force to be dealt with, a true overachiever. Her varied areas of accomplishment include practice and credentialing as a licensed massage therapist, small-business expert, Karuna Reiki master teacher, and postsecondary level educator. She has held numerous executive level positions in the business world, including a directorship with the American Red Cross, a senior management title with the Women's Business Development Corporation, and a vice presidency with SCORE. She was the founder and managing director of a multilevel company which provided quality speakers and presenters to professional associations, providing continuing education credits for rectification in business and healthcare disciplines throughout New England. She has spearheaded a consulting business for many years, providing experts in several areas of healthcare and business management, education, and innovative leadership techniques. A talented educator, Sonja has taught massage, stress management, and related therapeutic healing techniques at the postsecondary level as well as in smaller venues, and maintained a private practice for over thirty years. She has consulted internationally regarding alternative health practices in such diverse places as China and the Azores. Her expertise in small-business startups and turnarounds has led Ms Christiansen to provide guidance in the establishment and course correction of numerous small businesses, particularly for and by women. Sonja has also served with several Maine gubernatorial advisory groups and task forces with the goal of facilitating and improving small-business development. She has been a delegate with the White House Conference on small business and was a recipient of the US Small Business Administration Advocate Award. A prolific writer, Ms Christiansen has many publications to her credit, which include a collection of anecdotal stories, articles in professional publications, such as Developments Magazine.
