For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call. From this scriptures we can see, that you can't receive Holy Ghost, despite is the promise of God to us we His children, but Peter was able to mention what it take to receive the spirit of God. Knowing that God promise you Holy Ghost is not enough, but you need to know what you need to do, so that you can receive the spirit promised. So many people in the Bible seek this spirit, but never testify to have it. But there was a woman and a man in the Bible, the scripture said they are fill with Holy Ghost, and receive a promise of salvation. They are alive according to the spirit (Holy Ghost), who promise them long life, until they see the salvation. Their names are Simon and Anna. This two people know what to ask God. They ask for His spirit, and the receive, and they also ask for Salvation of Israel, which was written, and God gave them promise, and the saw it. God promise us so many things, but those things are spiritually design, because our God is a spirit. Let us read the scripture below to understand, that what we need are in the realm of the spirit. 1Co 2:9 - 14; But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned. Reading verse 10 - 11, will cause us to understand that most of the things we are asking are not things we supposed to ask from God. Jam 4:3 - Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume [it] upon your lusts. We can now see that things we ask from God are not things God want us to ask from Him. God want us to ask for the things for others... Joh 8:50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth. Jesus Christ was not after His own glory or fame or will, but He seek for the kingdom of God. All we ask is lust, money to eat or drink or put on the best clothe, that is good, but that is not all.
