After the loss of her husband, Chason Russell, to the rapids of the Crystal River after only eight days of marriage, Jessica Lockwood found herself doing something she never thought she'd do: she wrote a book. Writing served as a way to heal her grief, as well as a means to understand herself more fully. When Jessica is not writing or working as a surgical nurse, she can be found skiing, riding her bike, paddling rivers, or growing vegetables in Colorado's San Juan and Elk Mountains.
