The Zygaeninae (burnets) are diurnal, aposematic moths which occur in the Palaearctic, Oriental and Afrotropical regions. W. G. Tremewan, formerly on the staff of the Department of Entomology, The Natural History Museum, has made a life-study of this family and wrote the detailed account of the Zygaenidae in Volume 2 of The Moths and Butterflies of Great Britain and Ireland.
