On the basis of comparative study of hybrid rice and traditional rice varieties it can be concluded that traditional rice varieties are better than the hybrid rice varieties. Traditional rice varieties are superior because it is a good source of protein, essential amino acids, sugar and minerals. Traditional rice varieties also have better retention of protein, ash, sugar etc. Hence, they have the good keeping qualities which can open new vista for benefiting to farmers and high class of urban society of people and thus have enormous marketing potential in the domestic as well as global scenario.
