A Blade of Grass is a compilation of daily blog posts dating from a few days after the 2016 presidential election through mid-June 2017. The blog, entitled The Republican Democratic Rag, was written with a few purposes in mind. To help the author and those that read it to have a better understanding of our country's laws and Constitution. To examine the makeup of the government that would now presume to make decisions on behalf of the American people. To examine the legal legitimacy of donald trump as the head administrator of our government's administrative branch. Lastly, to provide the author with a forum for expressing his dismay and anger about the state of our country and the acceptance of behavior from our elected and appointed officials that would have been unacceptable and was unheard of prior to donald trump.Rather than simply reprinting these blog posts in the chronological order in which they first appeared, A Blade of Grass organizes and looks at these posts through the lens of specific topics: our country, our elections, our Constitution, our administration, our Congress, the Second Amendment, health care, donald trump, and the case(s) for impeachment of donald trump.

Autorenporträt
William R. (Bill) Sherman is an 'average' American citizen. He has no special qualifications other than being aware and concerned about our country. Over his lifetime, Bill has supported governmental leaders from both major political parties in our country, although the majority of those leaders hailed from Democratic Party.Growing up, Bill was exposed to the Vietnam protests and the civil rights unrest that had the 1960s as their crucible. He was exposed to great cinema such as "A Raisin in the Sun" with Sidney Poitier and "To Kill a Mocking Bird". He was raised in a family that promoted the ideals of acceptance of all people. A family that respected the value of women in the workplace. A family that believed that to love someone had nothing to do with theiecame r religion, the color of the skin, the economic strata that they happened to be in or their sexual orientation. As a result of the environment that Bill was raised in and the changes that our country experienced during his formative years, he became a thoughtful and feeling person. With these qualities, Mr. Sherman embarked on this work, "A Blade of Grass" in the hope of adding his voice to the American discussion that is currently taking place and that has and will always be in process.
