The aim of this book is to model the emotion of shame in agents, so that they express this emotion in the correct context and with the correct intensity, depending on the situation. To achieve this objective, the shame emotion is modelled according to factors that affect it, on people.Another important topic for this work is the act of blaming someone. Norms are an extremely important concept for this work, because they are related to the emotion of shame and to the blaming act. In order to achieve the goal of this book, investigation was made in the area of emotions. Then, were viewed some related architectures. After this, the model of shame and blame is described and explained how it was implemented. The model extends an architecture based on the OCC theory. To evaluate the work done, we used a case scenario, based on real situations that can occur in a bar. Thus,the evaluation was made to assess whether the result of our application was as expected by people.
