Miss Poonam has obtained her B.Sc. (Agri) degree from Navasari Agricultural University, Navasari with six gold medals. She has obtained 83.3% during her Under Graduate study. She did her M.Sc.(Agri) from Anand Agricultural University, Anand, under guidence of Dr. Jitendra J Dhruve. She has also obtained 83.5% during her post graduate study.
