The book "A captive society and macro national system, corruption & demography" came as a logical result of many discussions and reflections among my friends and colleagues who love Croatia and the European Union and who, through writing and research, want to support development, but also a civilized life in Croatia and all countries in transition to the EU. Croatia, a young country, the realization of the ancient Croatian dream of its own country, has become what we not expected. We asked ourselves why this is so? What are the real reasons that we encounter the "rule of law" which becomes opposite or everyday life? Croatia, a country of the Mediterranean, a country rich in resources and beauty, from green Slavonia to the blue Adriatic, a country that has all the prerequisites to live side by side with Switzerland, but reality tells us something completely different. This very fact encouraged us to open up this issue through this book, because we should know the answer in order to tell our students and young people to "stay here", which is hard to say at the moment.
