What is globalization? What is the impact of education on globalization, specifically as it relates to K12? How are teachers, schools, districts and communities preparing students to become globally competent, globally aware and globally literate? Does critical thinking, ability to collaborate cross culturally, learning and speaking a foreign language as well as a knowledge of global issues make up global education? What are the pros and cons of a global education curriculum? Do teachers, schools, districts and communities need new infrastructure or will the existing infrastructure do? This book examines how one US school district successfully addressed global education by mobilizing community focus groups, supporting teachers to globalize instruction and deploying technology and innovative approaches. The next step with this work is creating a call to action for all educators, schools and community members who are committed to educating all students to become global citizens and providing the tools and resources to accomplish that.
