The goal of the current inquiry was to gather information on post-harvest fungal infections in Tumkur town. The fungus-infected produce was brought to the study centre at J.S.S. Arts, Science and Commerce College in Gokak, Belagavi district, Karnataka, from Sri Siddhi Vinayaka Market in Tumkur. During the course of the investigation, 150 samples in total were taken. The samples were subjected to fungal isolation and research. In total, 9 fungal types from 6 genera were recorded from vegetables, whereas 8 fungal types from 8 genera were identified from fruits. The current study found that a sizeable proportion of fruits and vegetables had fungal infections, which led to losses. In the study area, it is also noted that fruit loss is higher than vegetable loss. More fungal species affected vegetables than fruits, with more fungal species impacting vegetables. Because of the suitable environment, disease incidence peaked between June and November. The study unmistakably shows that there is a huge possibility to research fruit and vegetable storage market diseases in order to develop a cure for these illnesses and extend the shelf life of the produce.
