The Rev. Cara B. Hochhalter is a retired United Church of Christ (UCC) minister. She received her Masters of Divinity from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities in Minnesota, where she studied the intersections of art, theology, and justice. She says, "I find that the process of creating images becomes a means to break into Biblical texts and themes that are meaningful in today's world." Cara is an artist, a teacher, a peacemaker, and has served as minister for a church in Charlemont, Massachusetts for ten years. She now resides in Hyde Park, New York with her husband, Jeffrey. She enjoys gardening with native plants, making watercolor/graphite art of wildflowers, and participating in peace efforts. Cara and Jeffrey have one daughter, Anna, who is a landscape architect with an ecological focus.
