Lise Johansen schloss ihr Feldstudium 2008 in Indonesien im Rahmen ihres Masterstudiums an der norwegischen Universität für Lebenswissenschaften ab. Nach ihrem Abschluss arbeitete sie für den norwegischen Forschungsrat, die Direktion für Katastrophenschutz und Notfallplanung sowie für Sicherheitsfragen im norwegischen Atlantikkomitee.
