Years later, Snowflake has to go back to heaven on a moonbeam. Grandma Jan made a pink scarf for Emma and for Snowflake. Emma puts her pink scarf around her neck and holds Snowflakes scarf next to her cheek. Emma sees two little stars blinking in the night sky and wonder.

Ruthanne Nopson was born in a gold mining camp in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. There are not enough children for first grade and kindergarten. She started first grade at age five and was excited because she could learn how to read and write. There was a library a few blocks from home. She read books and ate candy. School started in early September. The principal announced there would be a writing contest for all grades. Each winner would receive an award for their grade. The seventh grade had three subjects to choose from. They were a rose, a piece of broken glass, and a pair of Levis. She won for the seventh grade with her story about a pair of Levis. In the eighth grade, she moved to Washington State where she graduated from high school. She and her husband raised three children, and are now great-grandparents. Her passion for writing continues. She wants to encourage children to read and write. Her family is her inspiration.
