Bart Vandenabeele is Professor of Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art at Ghent University, Belgium. His research interests include Kant, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, tragedy, the sublime, aesthetic judgment, and the values of art and literature. He has published chiefly in the areas of philosophical aesthetics, the history of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century philosophy, and the philosophy of language and communication. He is associate editor of Empedocles: European Journal for the Philosophy of Communication.
