Medical language as a branch of LSP has its own audiences from ordinary people who read brochures of drugs and medicines and students of medical sciences to the experts of this field. So Medical translation is of major importance within the field of translation. Scientific Medical texts like other texts have their own terms, phrases and collocations (Gledhill, 2000).Translating lexical collocations of medical English could be a problematic area for non-native users of medical English. So the authors of this documented book comparing the translation ability of the students of translation studies who have acquired sufficient ability and knowledge in choosing the most appropriate equivalences in the process of translation and the translation ability of medical students in translating Persian medical collocations into English and vice versa, found that accurate communication of medical information would be possible if the translators are exposed to the authentic texts in that field to acquire the related collocational knowledge and develop their linguistic competence in that field.
