There's a balance between "can't put this book down" as too interesting and "can't pick this book up" as too heavy. For that reason, these stories are limited to 79 testimonials about those brave fathers - and mothers - who served in World War II. The book includes first-hand accounts, rare and previously unpublished photographs, and preened excerpts from researched recordings. Yet these poignant insights, journal notes, telegrams, letters, and the words of those who comported those actions bring that vivid reality to the fore.
