The Copyright Act 2014 was a very long awaited legislation for the protection of Copyrights in Mauritius and its concerned stakeholders. This dissertation critically analyses the effectiveness of the Copyright Act 2014 from what was the situation before it came into force and what was the situation 3 years after its implementation. The analysis of the whole system has shed light on how copyright is managed in practice and questioned the effectiveness of the Act through interviews carried out with professional in the field of copyright as well as provided recommendations to amend the current situation.
