The central aim of this project is to examine, considering all the variables, the trends of the 28 EU countries using a cluster analysis technique. Therefore, it will be necessary to explain the methods of grouping units on the theoretical level and then, the research will move on to an analytical phase in. The key question that needs to be answered is: are the European countries following the right path to achieve the results set in 2010 by the strategy 'Europe 2020'?
