The Mahanidana-sutta is one of the important suttas which discusses about the arising of different kinds of conflicts in society. This sutta basically discusses about different kinds of psychological factors that cause conflicts. The psychological factors such as contact, feelings, perceptions etc. psychologically influence people to grasp sensory objects with deluded mind. As a result of this, inner conflicts as well as different kinds of external conflicts arise in society. The significance of this sutta is that it explains this situation with the help of causal theory (idappaccayata).
