This book presents an extensive dictionary of the Dagaare language (Niger-Congo; Gur (Mabia)), focussing on the dialect of Central Dagaare, spoken in the Upper West region of Ghana. The dictionary provides comprehensive definitions, example sentences and the English translations, phonetic forms, inflected forms, etymological notes as well as information dialectal variation. Autorenporträt
Adams Bodomo is a Ghanaian academic, a Universitätsprofessor (¿University Professor¿) of African Studies (holding the Chair of African Languages and Literatures) at the University of Vienna, Austria ¿ the first Black academic to occupy this top position in an Austrian university. He has done pioneering research in many disciplines including African linguistics, Afriphone literature, diaspora studies with a particular focus on diaspora community contributions to the socio-economic development of countries of origin, AfricäChinäEurope relations, and interdisciplinary studies across many humanities and social science disciplines.
