This paper proposes a bibliographical review of the democratic values that are taught through Social Sciences and, specifically, in the subject of History. From this review it has been possible to define the most appropriate approaches, contents and methodologies to design a didactic proposal. With it, students will learn about the origin and historical development of democracy in Ancient Greece. But they will also learn to use this knowledge to better understand themselves and the social reality in which they live. The ideas that will be put into practice in this didactic proposal consist, first of all, in transmitting to the students the social, cultural, political and historical context that gave rise to the emergence of Athenian democracy. Secondly, we will try to make them empathize with these historical circumstances through role-play dynamics, 3D recreations and gamification. Finally, it is intended that they use their knowledge to make a speech in which they compare how the authors of Classical Greece defined democracy and how today some of its principles are defined in the current Spanish Constitution.
