Molly, a beautiful Shetland pony, is adored by the brother and sister who ride her but finds herself being bullied and ridiculed by the fancy ponies at the show barn about the size of her tummy and short legs by the other ponies at the show bar. Then the day comes when Molly is replaced by a big handsome champion jumping pony and she is sent home. Once back at her little shed, the little pony hears someone calling from a distance and makes her escape through the woods. At the top of the hill, she come upon a donkey named Little Jack, who quickly becomes her best friend and permanently moves in him. But their peaceful life is disrupted by the appearance of a young cougar who begins to watch them everyday from the top of the shed, fear sets in until one day a hero arrives in the form of a beautiful horse named Apache who becomes their protector. In a surprising turn of events, the young cougar reveals that he means no harm. He is just a lonely youngster who has no family and wants to be a part of their group. Soon other animals from the forest joint them on the little farm. They come to know that being different, whether in color, size, shape or even species, does not need to divide. Rather, the real blessing is how strangers can become best friends and even become a new family. Note: The paperback version of this book contains pages of drawings at the end that can be colored. It is recommended that watercolor pencils be used for coloring. The finished colored drawing can then be gone over lightly with a slightly damp (not wet) brush and will become your own watercolor painting of the animals.
