Autorenporträt
I have had a lifelong passion for Simple, Slow, Living, it started when I was a child and my parents took me to visit my grandparents in Greece. The lovely slow, simple way of the country and way of doing was greatly appealing. Greece also inspired to a certain extent my love of vintage living. Technology in 1970s Greece was behind that of the UK, although it's the same now, there was a certain appeal to listening to the world service on an old radio and watching old American shows on black and white television. I started my career in Banking and then went into IT, eventually realising my life long ambition of working for the BBC. The BBC taught me how to respect and motivate people, how to build teams and the true meaning of diversity and inclusion. I loved it but thought there was more in the outside world. I went on to work for the NHS and in 2021 was made redundant. This was a blessing in disguise as it gave me the opportunity to look at my life and do something I wanted to do, something with passion and meaning, something that would help other people in their own life journeys. I've read many books on simple, slow and scandi living but hadn't found one that combined all the disciplines into one framework. I decided to combine some of the principles, used in coaching, with my own personal experiences. Thus the idea of SHELVE was born. During my career, I interviewed a great many candidates and so it was a natural evolution for me to offer job interview coaching. To complement this I wrote a short guide to the process with useful hints and tips. More recently I completed my first fiction book, The Adventures of Barbara and Norman. A tale of two pensioners, an old Volvo and a Drag Queen.
