Autorenporträt
Stephanie Matolyak is the founder and owner of Stephanie's Farm, a loving home for rescued farm animals who have been given another chance at life, which is the inspiration for her children's picture book collection, A Farm Animals' Adventure series. The seed for her picture books grew from a creative partnership with Deborah Bailey, a graphic design artist who created the Christmas cards each year for Stephanie's real-estate business. Years later, the pair realized the cards, featuring the rescued farm animals, had a story to tell, and together they launched the children's series as a loving tribute to rescued animals and those who rescue them.Stephanie has always had a skill for understanding animal behavior and interpreting their moods and expressions. She brings this to the page by creating the fun thought bubbles in her books that portray each animal's communication in their adventures. Stephanie also observes and interacts with her rescue animals, taking photographs that bring them to life in each story. She hopes her young readers come away from her stories with a love of animals that stays with them long after the book is closed.
