An analysis of the role of "Peaceweaver" and "Goader" in the Beowulf as well as a discussion of how each of the female characters fits into one of these two archetype. The role of women as bringers of war and soothers of tension is analyzed as it relates to previous influential stories of the period before being contrasted with the characters of Beowulf. The role of women is then analyzed under a feminist lens to determine whether or not these two roles were empowering or demeaning.
