Richness, diversity, variety... these are the characteristics of the Algerian sociolinguistic landscape, marked by linguistic plurality, given the coexistence of several languages and dialects used by Algerian speakers, namely Arabic and Tamazight (also known as Berber) with their various varieties, as well as foreign languages such as French and English.Indeed, this linguistic wealth is at the root of several sociolinguistic phenomena arising from contact between the different linguistic codes used by Algerians, such as codic alternation, lexical borrowing, linguistic interference, bilingualism, diglossia...etc.This observation prompted us to conceive this book as a way for sociolinguistics enthusiasts to discover the components of the Algerian sociolinguistic context, focusing on the graphic and phonological particularities of the native Algerian languages, Arabic and Berber.
