Gholamrza Sabri-Tabrizi was born in Tabriz, Iran in 1934. He graduated from the University of Tabriz from the faculty of Language and Literature. He left Iran for Great Britain in 1959 to continue his studies in English Literature. He completed his Ph.D in Edinburgh University in 1969 while lecturing in Oriental Cultures and History. Gholamrza Sabri-Tabrizi was born in Tabriz, Iran in 1934. He graduated from the University of Tabriz from the faculty of Language and Literature. He left Iran for Great Britain in 1959 to continue his studies in English Literature. He completed his Ph.D in Edinburgh University in 1969 while lecturing in Oriental Cultures and History. He has published two books in English from both London and New York: "The 'Heaven' and 'Hell' of William Blake" (1973) "Iran: A Child's Story, A Man's Experience" (1989). He has lectured in universities around the world and taken part in different international congresses. At present he is a professor at Baku State University. He has been politically active in democratic and freedom movements in Iran. He is currently the chairman of the South Azerbaijan National Freedom Movement. Gholamrza Sabri-Tabrizi is also a very popular poet in Azerbaijan.
