"A History of Women's Football" is the first book to properly theorize the development of the women's game and to place it in the context of wider debates on gender and sport. The book traces the game's historical evolution in the UK, surveys the development of the game in the US, Europe and Africa, and offers a thorough critique of the contemporary state of women's football. As well as making a solid contribution to the academic literature, this book will also be a fascinating read for all discerning fans of world football.
