A Gardener's Year celebrates the joy of cultivating gardens and reflects upon a life working with plants. It's not a record of horticultural activities through the seasons, rather it's a metaphor for having a dream and making it real. For Fennel, who has spent half his life working in gardens, it's about cultivating a cottage garden where he can aspire to a self-sufficient lifestyle. The Journal sees him sow the seeds of this future reality.

Autorenporträt
Fennel Hudson is a lifestyle and countryside author whose gardens exist in wild and domestic places - some of them in metaphor and all seeking to enrich the beauty of our world. He began his gardening career at the age of 11, with a Saturday job that 'paid little but rewarded greatly'. He worked on large country estates before training in horticulture - something that would enrich his appreciation of the natural world. He changed career in his mid-thirties, becoming a writer who seeks to create 'a garden of words'. Always pausing to smell the roses, Fennel's motto is 'Stop - Unplug - Escape - Enjoy'.For more information please visit: www.fennelspriory.com
