The book is meant to be a guide to understanding the concept of sovereignty and how the enforcement of the various Conventions of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) affect the sovereignty of member States. It also explains the rights of the Flag State, Port State and Coastal State in the implementation/ enforcement of IMO Rules and Standard and how well this is being done. It illustrates how the enforcement of all the IMO Convention may pose as a threat to the internal security and or sovereignty of member States.
