The present study embodies research related to the study of the presence of gut microbial parasites from fecal contents' of Pteropus giganteus from Udaipur region. In this study four different roosting sites of Pteropus spp. were selected which were, Gulab Bagh, Samor Bagh, Graveyard (Hathipole), Eklinginath Temple. The fecal samples were collected periodically and assessed for the presence of different bacterial species. On the basis of microbial culture and biochemical analysis, seventy species were isolated of which ten species were further assessed by 16S rRNA analysis. These were then registered with NCBI and their phylogenetic tree was derived. This study clearly delineates the role of megachiropterans as carriers of numerous microorganisms and is one of its kind which has laid the foundation forfuturistic projects.
