"Art is a filthy thing; that is why I keep doing it" -M.V. A Haunting is a very personal, deep, and morbid look into the mind of mental illness, self-mutilation, and of all things… love. Meg Valdez gives us a glimpse of her younger self with poetry taken straight from her diaries and journals. It is raw, unfiltered, visceral and grotesque.

Autorenporträt
Meg Valdez was born in San Diego, CA in 1986. Her father passed away in 1996 which sparked her emotional rollercoaster into madness, depression, loneliness and self-mutilation. She attended an all-girls Catholic high school which is where she really began to express herself artistically and poetically, but with great struggle from the staff and her own family. In 2003, she was admitted to a psychiatric facility for attempted suicide, anorexia, and cutting. She was released two weeks later. Contrary to her own belief, she graduated high school in 2004, and college in 2010 with an Associate's Degree. To this day, Valdez still struggles with her mental health, but has learned to cope on her own without self-destruction. She currently lives in Orange County with her husband and two rabbits.
